To revolutionize the Building Integrated PV (BIPV) and architecture sectors, by providing sustainable window solutions with value-added characteristics.
The concept is based on and designed as a luminescent solar concentrator (LSC). It incorporates an innovative luminescent coating that absorbs surplus light in the visible region and re-emits it in the near-infrared (NIR) region. The re-emitted light travels through the window towards the CIGS customized PV modules, which collect re-emitted light and generate green energy. A key element in this window concept is the use of a luminescent layer absorbing in the visible region and emitting in the NIR region.
From October 1st, 2019 to September 30th, 2021, the SolarWin project will receive a 3-million euros contribution for research activities. The coordination is done by IREC. Project: H2020-EIC-FTI-2018-2020-870004
